FOX HORAN PARTNERS SPEAK AT UIA 2007 PARIS CONGRESS

Fox Horan attorneys are active in the meetings held regularly around the world by the Union Internationale des Avocats. Besides attending the meetings, Fox Horan lawyers lead presentations to UIA commissions on subjects of interest to international law practitioners.

At the 51st UIA Congress held in Paris, France in the week prior to November 4, 2007:

• Kathleen Kundar participated in a litigation commission panel on “Tracing and Freezing Assets in Aid of Litigation.” Her paper, “Freeze with Ease: New York Orders of Attachment and Non-U.S. Parties,” , was well received.
• Edward Marschner introduced John Horan’s presentation to the art law commission’s program on “Stolen Art: How Extensive Is the Problem?” John Horan’s presentation, “Whose Monet?” , was the focus of a lively exchange among participants, thanks in part to his visual aids and the emphasis on the importance of selection of the state or federal court that will apply the law to a case involving stolen or lost artworks.
